Silva(4-0) came through with a virtuoso performance against the Tampico hitters. He allowed only 3 hits and 1 walk in 9 innings lowering his ERA to 2.29. The pitchers took over after the 4th inning as neither team was able to score again. Ben Sheets(6-3) was given the loss. He was stingy with the baserunners, allowing just 3 hits and 2 walks in 8 innings. Mike Aldrich lamented, 'Silva was really aggressive today. He kept coming after our hitters. Heck, why not. he kept sitting our guys down one after another - like so many bowling pins!'
